Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist is one of the best, if not the best, Splinter Cell games to date. Furthermore it is considered one of the best stealth based games of all time. It was released for the PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360, in August 2013. Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, a game studio created in 2009, and published by Ubisoft. It is the sixth installment in the series and a direct sequel to Splinter Cell: Conviction.
You play as Sam Fisher, a professional spy working for the Fourth Echelon. The objective is to stop a group of terrorists called “the Engineers”, who threatens the US to recall all the troops it has deployed abroad in many foreign countries. The gameplay stays true to its predecessors. It is about being stealth and trying non lethal tactics to resolve missions. You can run, crouch and leap over obstacles, just like in Conviction. The thing most people like about this game is the new action elements. The game adds these new action based gameplay mechanics, but also keeps the core stealth mechanics of the previous games. The artificial intelligence of your enemies, has been improved. They notice dead bodies of their former companions and will alert others, forcing the player to move dead bodies out of sight. The graphics are also excellent, with an emphasis on lightning.
Blacklist is a great game, definitely worth a playthrough for the story and the gameplay. If you are a fan of the series, then this is a must play. However if you are new to the series, it is a great game to get you into the Splinter Cell world.
